The Cohort: Exploring the shared musical lineage of great English composers
Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
The Presbyterian Church in Westfield
While many may know the names Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Herbert Howells, and Samuel Coleridge Taylor, it may be surprising to learn that all of these “greats” studied under the same teacher – Charles Villiers Stanford – and many of them had the chance to interact with each other personally and artistically. In this concert, we experience the shared musical lineage of these composers through their works, along with the works of their contemporaries George Dyson, Rebecca Clarke, and John Ireland.
Ticket sales will open in Fall 2025.
